Soccer Tricks

1.Stepovers

Stepovers, one of the most exciting yet difficult trick needs a lot of practice and lot of skill.

If done properly they can easily fool an opponent and send him in the opposite direction!

How to do it: Shape as if you are going to strike the ball, but lift that foot over the top of the ball instead.

1. Make sure the ball is moving so start dribbling slowly.
2. Circle the left foot anti-clockwise by bringing the left foot across the right foot and around the ball without touching the ball.
3. Dip the left shoulder to angle the body so it looks like the player will move that way.
4. Use the outside of the right foot to take the ball past the defender on the other side.

Once you can do one then practice bringing your right foot around the ball clockwise, and build up to do two or three in a row.

I must tell you this: it’s a trick which seems quite easy when seen but believe me it’s one of the most challenging skills in soccer. I myself took 1-2 weeks to learn and perfect it!!

So what are you waiting for? Take your ball and start practicing right away!

Also, you can watch this video which shows how to do the step-over step by step!!

2. 360 SPIN

360 spin is a comparatively much easier trick then the stopovers but can only be mastered through a LOT of practice. It is also one of the most stylish tricks in soccer. Nevertheless it is extremely helpful in leaving your opponent for dead.

What is so SPECIAL about this trick is that it totally confuses the defender and sends him the wrong way! Some masters of the 360 spin are Zidane Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani, and many more.

How to do it:

  1. Start dribbling the ball slowly.
  2. Pull the ball towards the right with your right foot.
  3. Then, pull the ball backwards with your left foot to complete the 360 spin.
  4. Try this a few times in your garden or a flat ground and slowly increase your speed

Well my experiences while doing this trick were not so nice! I fell down several times while doing it!....On my back, on my knees and once even on my head! The ball would always get stuck in my legs!! Let me tell you, it’s VERY irritating…but..once you learn it, you are bound to forget all your pains!! It will prove to be very difficult in the starting but do not lose hope and be patient. Just keep practicing until you perfect it!

So Good Luck guys! For a demo, please watch the video below!
